History

Highlands Ranch has over 2500 acres of dedicated open space, along with 70 miles of trails for both biking and running. Chatfield State Park runs along the west side of Highlands Ranch, offering both lake activities and a nature center to explore.Some of Denver’s best restaurants and shopping can be found in the Highlands Ranch area, so venturing beyond your own neighborhood is purely optional.

Originally 12 miles from Denver, the city has slowly crept out to meet Highlands Ranch. Part of the appeal of Highlands Ranch for many is its proximity to Denver. An easy commute by car or light rail means that you can work in Denver while still enjoying a more relaxed lifestyle. Living in Highlands Ranch also provides the ability to easily drive into the mountains or Boulder for a quick day trip- just hop onto C-470 and go!
